The Health Connect application and associated services are made available to you by NEL CSU.
Health Connect is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this application, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
What information do we collect?
We may collect the following information:
- Name and date of birth
- Contact information including email address
- Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
- Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers
When a video appointment is made for you the organisation will collect personal information, such as: name, e-mail address and telephone number so that they can book the appointment in our web based system.
This information will only be stored by NEL CSU for one week.
You are then sent an e-mail with all the information you need to connect to the appointment at the right time through your chosen method be it desktop or mobile.
What do we use your information for?
NEL provides the Health Connect video software to your consultant (or a member or their team) so that they can provide you with appointments and consultations online via a live video link.
We only use your information for the purpose it was intended.
We do not share it with anyone else other than the organisation using the system unless we are instructed to by them.
Once your appointment is over, your information is kept for one week and then deleted from our systems.
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Your data will only be stored on servers hosted in the United Kingdom.
When your video consultation takes place, the video link is also encrypted between you and the advisor. There is no facility in our software for the consultation to be recorded, and therefore we do not keep any recordings of the consultation that takes place. Only authorised system administrators have access to your data for the purposes of database administration and trouble-shooting.
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

Controlling your personal information
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
Under the terms of our contract made under the Data Protection Act 1998, NEL are only allowed to act on the instruction of the customers who purchase our service to provide you with the video consultation. Therefore, if you wish to have a copy of the information held about you you must in the first instance contact them. We will assist them where necessary to provide the information requested.
